Each student is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner while on school and clinical facility grounds. The following is a list of expectations to be followed by each and every student.
Attendance is expected for all scheduled classes and clinical experiences. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the school for any absences. The attendance policy will be strictly enforced by the school. Students enrolled in online Medicaid approved State Registered Nurse Aide Training Course must complete all learning modules, tests and /or exams themself and view all learning modules in their entirety.
It is expected that all students be on time for scheduled classes and clinical experiences. The school policy regarding absences and tardiness will be strictly enforced.
Breaks and meal periods are assigned by the instructor. Students must return on time. The instructor may dismiss any student from class for taking extended meal periods or breaks. All missed time must be made up. It will be the student’s responsibility to contact the school for needed make-up time. Make-up time will be scheduled at the school’s first available opening.
Each student is expected to abide by the dress code.
Name badges must be worn while in the clinical settings.
Each student is expected to complete all homework assignments, including reading material assigned.
Any disruptive, argumentative, or discourteous behavior will not be tolerated and will result in termination from the program without refund.
No recording devices of any kind are allowed within the classroom or clinical facility.
Cell phones inside the classroom and on the grounds of the clinical facility are prohibited. All cell phones must be turned off while in the classroom. Any disruption of class due to a student’s cell phone will result in dismissal from the course without refund.
Group participation and skills practice is a mandatory component of the training course. No student will be allowed to refuse to work with any other student as assigned by the instructor. This course encourages teamwork as part of the curriculum.
Refusal to participate in any assignment given by the instructor will result in dismissal from the course without refund.
Students participating with online Medicaid approved State Registered Nurse Aide Training Course are required to complete all learning modules in their entirety, complete all tests and / or exams, and complete clinical experiences as arranged by the school.
Satisfactory completion of any course requires each student's active participation to read, study, practice skills, and ask questions. Classroom test performance is the student's responsibility. Each student must complete the course with a minimum average of 70% or above and satisfactorily pass the skills check-offs. Failure to complete these minimum requirements will result in failure of the course.
Cheating is grounds for immediate dismissal from any course and there will be no refund.

TWO STEP TB TEST Required
The TWO STEP TB Test is 2 separate TB tests given 7-21 days apart. EXAMPLE: if you have the 1st TB test given to you on Monday and read on Wed or Thursday, you will go back on the next Monday and have the 2nd TB test given to you and read on Wed or Thurs. You will then email the results of both TB tests to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Background check Required
Due to the time to get results, if using this method for your Background check, HEC recommends to submit immediately upon Registering. However, we recommend calling the KY State Police Background check at 502-227-8700 for instructions to go to Frankfort WITH THE COMPLETED FORM from the link below and a $20.00 check, and getting your Background check in person. It takes 20 minutes in person to get it. Then email it to HEC.
Instructions for the KY State Police Background check results:
- By KY State law, each student must initiate this background check upon Registration and payment so we have the results before you attend Clinical. HEC should receive the results within 4 weeks.
- Please print and complete this form: Click to Download Form
- Student is to forward a check or money order made payable to the Kentucky State Treasurer in the amount of $20.00.
- Address and put a postage stamp on one envelope to the Kentucky State Police address on the bottom of the form you printed and completed.
Then, in this 1st envelope, put the following 3 things: 1) completed form 2) check or money order for $20.00 3) a 2nd envelope with postage stamp and addressed to

They will use the 2nd addressed envelope with postage stamp on it to mail your Background Check results to Health Education Center.
You may need to fold the 2nd envelope to fit in the 1st envelope.
